this is how it all started...

The first day of school, I walked into the class and I saw unfamiliar faces. I sat down anywhere I could find a seat and waited for the teacher to start. People started coming in and sitting down wherever they could and the room was silent. Nobody was talking and it was pretty awkward. Then Mr.S told us that this is how he wanted us to think sociologically. He explained that us,as students are trained to think that every class should start with the teacher lecturing us. From this, I learned that sociology will make me think differently about myself and the world. In Outliers by Malcom Gladwell, he talks about how the Rosetans rarely had heart diseases. A physician named Stewert Wolf wanted to find out why that is true. He finally learns, after many tests, that the people from Roseto were healthy because of where they were from and the world they created around themselves. They stopped by to talk to eachother, walked down the streets, and had family meals. It all depends on the way we eat and live our lives. The people who we hang around with affects the person we choose to be and affects who we are.
