you don't know what you have until itz gone

On Tuesday, a couple of us from Sal's classes went to St. Thomas Church in the city to help out at the soup kitchen. I wasn't that surprised when I saw the guests because I seen what it's like to be in their position since my family lives in the city too. This was my first time going to help out at a place like this and I had a great time. It felt really good to talk to these people and it made me happy when some people told me "thank you." Just by listening to some of these people's stories made me feel like I made their day because they don't have opportunities to tell people who would actually care. Not only did I help others but I also helped myself because it made me realize how fortunate I am to have a family who supports me and loves me. My goal in life is to make a difference in people's lives and I think that going to the soup kitchen was a good way to start.
